"Phlebology and painting have become a passion of mine. I proudly present my phlebology atlas, illustrated by myself."
Doctor Céline Eggen has been working as a phlebologist for 8 years now. She is currently employed at both Centrum Oosterwal in Alkmaar (the head training center for phlebologists in the Netherlands) and Polikliniek de Blaak (Rotterdam). She is fascinated by the skin, and loves the practical aspect of the profession as well as the frequent and rewarding patient contacts.
Eggen created the Little Atlas of Phlebology because she noticed the added value of images in patient education in her daily practice. She decided to create the illustrations herself using water color techniques, for an accessible and friendly appearance.
After receiving positive reactions by patients and colleagues, she was invited to international phlebology congresses to speak about her atlas, building a large network of doctors all over the world.

A little blog.. from first launch to going worldwide
On May 1st 2021 I launched the very first edition of the atlas, the Dutch version. I aired the website and the book trailer, and celebrated online via Zoom due to Covid measures.
On my birthday, 22nd of March 2022, I launched the first English version!! As the Dutch version was getting quite popular among physicians in the Netherlands, I secretly dreamed of going abroad with the book..
A dream which became a reality in 2024, when I launched a new edition of my atlas during the v-WINdonesia congress in Bali, including the preface by prof Sergio Gianesini. Since then I met all these amazing colleagues around the world who offered to help me translate the book in their native language. I really would like to thank all these dear colleagues who became friends for their efforts and dedication for this project, and prof. Sergio Gianesini for his support and connecting me to all these wonderful people!!
